A case for easier upgrades

WIRED published an article on Sept. 30, 2023, arguing that devices should be as easy to upgrade as the Steam Deck.

The headline positions the handheld as a benchmark for upgrade-friendly hardware.

For players, easier upgrades can matter when maintaining gaming devices over time. The article’s central comparison raises that issue beyond the Steam Deck itself.
