On Friday, May 20, it all happened in the [Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan United States]
The men’s tag team titleholders from WWE’s two main brands finally came to blows after weeks of fire fight-talking… but it was the SmackDown representatives who succeeded, unifying two belts in the process — much like their cousin Roman Reigns did at WrestleMania when he defeated Brock Lesnar and won the WWE champion and become the WWE universal championship and WWE champion.

The Usos’ historic success would not have been achieved without the help of the aforementioned Tribal Chief, who came through the audience and ringside arena while the referee was distracted and pulled Jey Uso out of harm’s way, forcing Matt-Riddle to fly off the top rope, missed his target, and crash with a thud on the mat. Jey-uso then blasted Matt-Riddle with his own top rope splash attack, and covered his opponent for the 1-2-3! For good measure, The Bloodline beat the dude out of RK-Bro after the bell.

The match was set during last week’s SmackDown episode’s finale when Randy-Orton and Matt-Riddle confronted the Bloodline as the show ended.
For a few weeks, a WWE Tag Team Championship unification had been planned. It was originally scheduled for WrestleMania Backlash, but plans changed, and the four tag champions were forced to compete in the main event, with Drew McIntyre teaming up with RK-Bro and Roman Reigns battling alongside his cousins Jimmy and Jey Uso.
Matt-Riddle and Randy-Orton were in their second reign as Raw Tag Team Champions prior to the match. They had the gold for a total of 217 days and counting. At the time of writing, the Usos are in their fifth reign as SmackDown Tag Team Champions, which has lasted 307 days.
